How can we counteract the shortage of skilled installers in the sanitary industry while also giving back to society and offering young people a prosperous future?

The answer is GIVE – short for GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education – a program that collaborates with 40 institutions in the EMENA region offering plumbing training. This cooperation provides young students with a good basis for a successful start to their professional careers.

GIVE is on the move

GIVE aims to address the shortage of skilled plumbers – it’s a concern if consumers can’t get the technical support they need. The program will drive up the standards in new and emerging markets, as well as giving career opportunities to young people of all backgrounds.

On a mission: It’s about giving back

Christopher Penney, Leader GIVE Program LIXIL EMENA and Timo Kurz, Leader Training LIXIL EMENA, have coordinated the opening of 12 schools in the past few months. One of the focus areas has been Ghana in West Africa, and the ATTC training centre in Accra. The country’s first GROHE training facility will help 75 students, not only with hands-on training but with guidance to allow for a better start in their working lives.

To a brighter future

As a brand, GROHE has a responsibility also to society and with GIVE we are living up to this on many different levels. GIVE will bring real benefits to underserved communities. In the next year the program will grow to 50 schools training 5,000 students every year. The journey is far from over.
