  • The GIVE (GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education) Program supports plumbers with headline sponsorship of HIP’s Female Skills Competition 2023.

  • The debut skills competition is on the search for the best up-and-coming industry talent.
  • As a global industry leader, the GROHE brand works to increase opportunities in plumbing for young people around the world.

London, February 2023 – Given the shortage of skilled installers in the sanitary industry, it is more important than ever to enable and encourage young individuals to build the foundations for a prosperous future through education and extra curriculum activities within the field. This is why GROHE, a leading global brand for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, initiated its “GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education” (GIVE) Program and continues their commitment to supporting initiatives and organisations encouraging promising industry talent.

The GROHE GIVE Program is proud to be the headline sponsor of the debut Female Skills competition 2023 run by HIP, the only UK magazine dedicated to plumbing and heating students.

The competition has been created to provide a dedicated space for enthusiastic females within an industry that is often associated and primarily represented by males, allowing contestants to showcase their skills and talent amongst comparable peers.

Kicking off this month, the Female skills competition 2023 will see 24 Level 2 and 3 female plumbing & heating learners of all ages, from colleges nationwide compete in two regional heats for a chance to get through to the grand final.

The regional heats will take place on the 28th February at the Harrow Weald College and 2nd March at York College and will consist of live practical installations to test the participants skills. The top three contestants from each regional heat will go on to the final at Loughborough college on 30th March which will see the finalists take part in enhanced practical installations to showcase their skills further.

To support the winners and showcase GROHE’s appreciation to new industry talent, LIXIL’s Leader, Jonas Brennwald, will attend the final to handout prizes and congratulate the winners.

“Our industry offers so many opportunities for young people around the globe who cannot only make a living but make a positive impact with plumbing for a sustainable future. Well trained and professional personnel are pivotal to our industry, and we’re committed to supporting and championing those starting out.” commented Jonas Brennwald, Leader, LIXIL EMENA.

With its GIVE Program (GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education), GROHE supports plumbing schools across the EMENA region with the training and education of aspiring young installers. GROHE enhances school facilities by setting up a fully functioning installer-training space with modern equipment and training material. After graduation, GROHE supports the students in gaining work experience or placements at GROHE partners. In the UK, a successful training facility of this kind has been running for several years with Colchester Institute, with this blueprint being used internationally to provide skilled installers on a global scale.
