Flood donation: LIXIL donates 250,000 euros in emergency aid

  • 200,000 euros go to the German Red Cross

  • Another 50,000 euros to the Villa Dominik facility run by the association for physically and multiply disabled people e. V. in Menden, Germany

  • Employees receive paid time off for volunteering, cleaning up at their homes or those of their families

Düsseldorf, July 20, 2021. It is with great dismay that LIXIL, manufacturer of water technologies and building equipment, whose portfolio also includes the GROHE brand, has seen the severe weather disaster in the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, the Netherlands and Belgium, which has caused devastating destruction and also cost human lives. Together, the Board of Management and employees have decided to set up an aid program to provide support where help is urgently needed right now.

"We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest sympathy to all those who have been affected by the damage and have lost their homes or even loved ones. As a company, we have close ties with the region of North Rhine-Westphalia, and some of our employees or their relatives, as well as customers and suppliers, have also been affected - we want to help the people here quickly and unbureaucratically," says Thomas Fuhr, Leader Fittings LIXIL International and Co-CEO Grohe AG.
As immediate aid for the severely affected Villa Dominik facility for the disabled in Menden, LIXIL is making 50,000 euros available to provide unbureaucratic help to the residents and the facility here. The villa once belonged to the GROHE brand. The company will donate another 200,000 euros to the German Red Cross for nationwide aid.
"At this point, we would like to particularly emphasize the extraordinary commitment of individual employees who are out and about helping in emergency areas as part of their work for, among others, the volunteer fire departments. That's why we also offer paid time off for our own cleanup efforts or volunteer service in addition to company assistance for those affected," adds Jonas Brennwald, Leader LIXIL EMENA and Co-CEO Grohe AG.
